Herbs that help to increase fertility in men

Many people who are trying to conceive have found success with herbal supplements. While herbal supplements are not typically scientifically tested on a large scale, they have been around for many years and many people believe in their ability to help with infertility. There are some specific herbs that are believed to help with fertility in men. These can include:

False Unicorn
False Unicorn is thought to specifically help with male impotence issues.

Ginseng
Ginseng is believed to stimulate the immune system. Like false unicorn, Ginseng may help with male impotence. In addition, ginseng is believed to help increase levels of testosterone.  In addition, ginseng may help with both sperm count and sperm motility.

Maritime Pine Bark
This extract, sometimes with the trade name Pycnogenol, is thought to be a powerful antioxidant. As such, it may be able to help when a man has abnormal sized or shaped sperm.

Saw Palmetto
This natural steroid helps build tissue and stimulate the glands that produce sperm. In addition, it may be able to help with low libido and prostate issues.

Other Herbs which are thought to help fertility in general include:
- Alfalfa
- Black Haw
- Cayenne
- Cramp Bark
- Lady’s Mantle
- Licorice
- Loveage
- Motherwort
- Nettle
- Red Clover
- Rehmannia
- Squaw Vine
- True Unicorn Root
- Valerian
- White Peony

A variety of other herbs may assist with low sperm count, including:
- Salabmisri (Orchis mascula)
- Kokilaksha (Hygrophila auriculata Syn. Asteracantha longifolia)
- Vanya Kahu (Lactuca scariola)
- Kapikachchu (Mucuna pruriens)

- Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris)

In addition, there are a few vitamin supplements that may also affect male fertility, including:

Vitamin C
When a man does not get enough Vitamin C, it can lead to a condition known as the agglutination of sperm. This occurs when the sperm cells clump all together. This greatly reduces the motility of sperm.

Vitamin E
Low levels of this vitamin can be responsible for low levels of enzymes and hormones that are responsible for the production of sperm.

Selenium
Selenium is thought to help with the integrity of the sperm cells.
Obviously, if a man is having a long-term difficulty with infertility, it may be best to contact your health care provider. In some cases, there can be a physical cause, such as blockage of the vase defer-ens, that no amount of herbal therapy can help with.
